Day 1
HOWLER MONKEYS & CRITTERS
Oh boy, what a start to the trip. We have Howler Monkeys everywhere, paired with Sloths and Bats of course (why wouldn’t there be). Our bed of course has a Mosquito net and it came in super handy when Mr. Bat decided to join the fun and try to sleep right above our bed. Let’s just say we did not sleep very well until I got that little fucker and nearly destroyed the house while removing him to his demise (no pics or videos again, sorry we will get better at it) and it was pure comic relief. On a quick note, our bedroom does have A/C but, you have to shut everything else up to cool the room down as the typical lows for the evenings are in the 80s with 100% humidity. The Howlers are amazing and they start a group howl at 4am, which is kind of depicted bel0w, and it is eerie as hell. They all get in sync and howl at the same scary movie pitch and you can’t see shit because of the fog. They start from the jungle behind us howling and then work their way towards us and the edge of the beach (will get better video and pics)
The Howler Monkeys
Turn your sound up. These guys were in the trees right around the casa, and you hear them long before you see them.
